As part of a group of selected students and practicing architects to the 2008 TKK Wood Program, we were challenged with the design and construction of an advanced net-zero energy building which would later compete in the 2010 International Solar Decathlon in Madrid.

Luukku was equally efficient in the depths of the Finnish winter as it was in the punishing summer heat of Madrid, testimony to the careful design, special technical features and overall energy efficieny of the building. In competition with 20 other high ranking european universities Luukku gained 6th overall place with a clear win in the architectural competition.
